HISTORICAL MEMORY: THE «THAW» IN KAZAKHSTAN

Abstract
This publication, based on the archival materials of the former KGB of the Kazakh SSR, reveals little-known (unknown) aspects of the so-called «thaw» - the period of de-Stalinization in Kazakhstan. Thanks to declassified documents the reader is given the opportunity to expand the ideas about our famous and not so famous compatriots, to see them sometimes in an unexpected perspective. Special attention is paid to the activity in the 1960s of the student public association «Zhas Tulpar» headed by Murat Auezov (January 1, 1943 - June 14, 2024).
