Abstract
This article examines the use of the reading book English Through Reading as an effective tool for developing language competence among non-linguistic students. The conducted experiment confirmed the hypothesis that reading positively impacts lexical and grammatical skills, text comprehension, and both oral and written speech. A comparative analysis of the control and experimental groups demonstrated that students using the book achieved higher results. The study also identified key challenges related to language proficiency levels, vocabulary acquisition, and motivation for reading. The article provides methodological recommendations for overcoming these difficulties and outlines prospects for further research, including the integration of digital books and interactive platforms in foreign language education.
