Abstract

The article examines the potential for the rational use of meltwater in the urban infrastructure of Uralsk, taking into account the experience of European countries, particularly Poland, within the framework of academic mobility. In Uralsk, as in other cold-climate cities, meltwater often causes flooding and stormwater drainage issues. The author explores practices for the effective collection, storage, and use of meltwater, such as underground reservoirs, rain gardens, and green technologies implemented in Polish cities. The potential for adapting these technologies in Uralsk to improve the resilience of urban infrastructure, reduce the load on water supply systems, and increase environmental sustainability is also discussed. The article emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive approach, including the introduction of innovative solutions and the involvement of local authorities and the community.
