Abstract
The purpose of this article is to conduct a metaphorical diagnosis of the press of the Republic of Kazakhstan during a pandemic. To achieve this goal, the study analyzed 20 newspaper articles, which showed 9 examples of metaphorical translations. Quantitative and semantic-stylistic analysis allows us to identify the most commonly used metaphorical models, which are little used, but reflect the expression and image of metaphorical expressions, determine the level and conventionality of the use of metaphors used to describe the situation in the country and the world with coronavirus infection and its impact on the economy, medicine and other areas of human life.
