APPLICATION OF GROUP TECHNOLOGIES IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGE TO PHILOLOGY STUDENTS
Abstract
This article addresses the use of group technologies in teaching the "Foreign Language" discipline to philology students. The paper provides a brief overview of the history of the emergence of group methods from ancient times to the present day. Special attention is given to the concept of group work, and various definitions proposed by different scholars are presented. The author focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of group technologies, analyzing the role of the teacher in organizing group learning. The stages of conducting group work are discussed separately, with particular emphasis on the importance of the preparatory stage, which determines the success of the entire task and the maintenance of student motivation. The article provides an example of applying group technologies in teaching foreign language to philology students, drawing conclusions about the positive and negative results of their application.
