STUDY OF CERAMICS OF THE BRONZE AGE OF KAZAKHSTANIN THE PERIOD 1991-2023
Abstract
This paper presents a semi-systematic review of literary sources dedicated to the ceramics of the Bronze Age in Kazakhstan. It evaluates works by both domestic and foreign specialists, allowing for a comparative analysis of approaches to ceramics as an object of study and their interpretations. As a result of the review, contemporary works published between 1991 and 2023 were analyzed
The analysis revealed common problems and trends, as well as summarized the results achieved in the study of ceramics. The importance of interdisciplinary research, such as radiocarbon dating and the chemical composition of clays, was emphasized, as these methods provide a deeper understanding of the cultural context and significance of ceramic complexes
In conclusion, the achievements and gaps in the current state of study of Bronze Age ceramic complexes in Kazakhstan are highlighted, and the main directions for future research are identified, which could lead to a deeper understanding of the cultural and social processes occurring during this period. Thus, the review underscores the importance of ceramics as an archaeological material that opens new horizons in the study of the social and cultural history of the Bronze Age in Kazakhstan, while also formulating recommendations for future research aimed at further enriching knowledge about the ancient ethnocultural communities of the region.
